The course
The Pearson Edexcel International GCSE French course tests your receptive skills (reading and listening) and productive skills (speaking and writing). The qualification is 100% externally assessed and graded on the 9–1 numerical scale.
The 5 topic areas
The course content is built around five broad topic areas:
- Topic A: Home and abroad
- Topic B: Education and employment
- Topic C: Personal life and relationships
- Topic D: The world around us
- Topic E: Social activities, fitness and health
The topic areas provide contexts for the acquisition of vocabulary and the study of grammar and structures. They are usually broken down into more manageable sub-topics.
