Paper Overview & Structure
Task Count: 3 compulsory tasks across three different topic areas.
- Picture-based Discussion (2–3 mins, 12 marks): Student responds to five questions about a pre-selected picture (covers 1 topic area).
- Conversation 1 (3–3.5 mins, 14 marks): Spontaneous conversation on a second topic area assigned by Pearson.
- Conversation 2 (3–3.5 mins, 14 marks): Spontaneous conversation on a third topic area assigned by Pearson.
Topics Assessed: Selected across the core topics (Home and abroad; Education and employment; Personal life and relationships; The world around us; Social activities, fitness and health).
Assessment Focus: Spontaneity, interaction, fluency, range of vocabulary, and accuracy of grammatical tenses.
